Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday jointly announced the Tigers’ tour of India to play the one-off Test starting at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on February 9.

Although India were Bangladesh’s opponent in their inaugural Test in 2000, they are the last of the ICC full-member nation to host Bangladesh for a Test for the first time.

Ahead of the only Test, Bangladesh cricket team will play a two-day warm-up match against India ‘A’ team at Gymkhana Ground, Secunderabad starting on February 5.

The Tigers will leave the country for India on February 2 and are expected to return home on February 14.

Completing their fruitless New Zealand tour comprising three ODIs, three T20Is and two Tests, Bangladesh returned home on January 26.

After a four-day vacation, the Tigers will join a preparation camp ahead of the tour to India.

To play the eight matches of the longest format of cricket, Indian toured Bangladesh in 2000, 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2015 where Bangladesh managed two draws.

After getting Test status, Bangladesh featured in two limited-over tournaments in India to play ICC Champions Trophy qualifiers in 2006 and in the ICC World T20 in 2016.

Bangladesh toured to India four times -- 1990, 1998, 2006 and 2016 -- but never played Test cricket or even a bilateral series in the country.
