Mushfiq back in nets
Bangladesh had a tour of nightmare in New Zealand. Throughout the tour, the team performance was below average and to add the sorrow, some of the key players suffered sudden injuries. All the misfortunes dragged the team to back foot. Opener Imrul Kayes was injured by a hit to his upper left thigh. Mushfiqur Rahim was hit on the helmet by a Tim Southee short-pitched delivery and middle order batsman Mominul Haque was unfit because of his rib-bone injury.
In the first ODI in Christchurch, Mushfiq had to return the pavilion with 42 runs for his hamstring injury. He could not play in the next two ODIs and the T20 series.
Defeating all the frustrations, Mushfiq is back in the nets for practice. He came back on January 22 and started his net-practice in Mirpur Sher-E-Bangla Cricket stadium, though his fitness training started two days ago and he is getting well gradually.
Besides, Mushfiqur Rahim, Imrul and Mominul will be completely fit before Bangladesh tour to India, said BCB physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury.
‘Mushfiq gets back to practice sessions, which is a good news for us. In addition, Imrul is getting well and will be examined on January 31. Mominul will also be fit before the India Tour.’
