Dhaka: A female worker was killed and at least three others were injured when the boundary wall of a under construction building collapsed on them in Dhaka’s Baridhara area on Thursday.

The identity of the deceased could not yet be known.

The injured are Mahbub Alam, Azibur, and Abdul Khaleq. They were admitted to Kurmitala General Hospital.

Mizanur Rahman, the duty officer at the Fire Service control room, said part of the boundary wall of the building, collapsed on workers while they were repairing it at about 11:30am, leaving one dead on the spot and three injured.

The Gulshan police Officer-in-charge (OC) Sirajul Islam said the reason behind the woman’s death could not be known immediately. However, primarily it has been believed that the 40-year-old woman died after being trapped under the collapsed wall.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
