Savar: Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque said the killers of Gaibandha MP Manjurul Islam Liton have been identified and they will be arrested soon.

The IGP came up with the information on Monday while talking to reporters after inaugurating a multi-storey barrack and an arms depot of Sripur Industrial Police-1 in Ashulia, reports UNB.

The progress in the investigation into the murder is good and the motorcycle riders involved in MP Liton killing have been identified. They will be produced before the media upon arrest soon’, he said.

Liton was shot at point blank range by some miscreants at his village home at Masterpara in Bamandanga union of Sundarganj Upazila on December 31, last year. The MP was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
