Bangladesh leave for Sri Lanka

Dhaka: Mushfiqur Rahim-led Bangladesh Cricket team left Dhaka for Sri Lanka on Monday noon for a tour comprising a two-Test, three-ODI, and two-match T20 series against the hosts in March.
The Tigers departed the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 2:20pm on a Sri Lankan Airline UL190 to Colombo, reports UNB.
The Tigers will start their campaign in island nation with a two-day tour-match beginning on March 2 at Tyronne Fernando Stadium in Moratuwa.
The first Test match begins on March 7 at Galle International Stadium while the 2nd Test, Bangladesh’s 100th in the format, starts on March 15 at P Sara Oval in Colombo.
Having played their inaugural Test against India in November 2000, Bangladesh will be the last of the ICC full member nation to complete the hundredth Test, having taken little over 16 years to reach the mark.
Since September 2001, Bangladesh played 16 Tests against Sri Lanka where they conceded defeat in 14 outings and the remaining two matches ended in draws.
Besides the Test series, Bangladesh will play three ODIs and two T20Is against Sri Lanka.
The Bangladesh squad for ODI and T20I series will be announced later.
The first two ODIs will be held at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on March 25, 28 and the 3rd ODI at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo on April 1.
The two T20Is will be held at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on April 4 and 6 respectively.
