Dhaka: Five days after US Ambassador Marcia Bernicat’s meeting with Khaleda Zia, European Union Ambassador in Dhaka Pierre Mayaudon called on the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson on Monday.

The meeting was held at Khaleda’s Gulshan office around 5:00pm.

There was no briefing from either side about the meeting, reports UNB.

Meanwhile, several BNP leaders who attended the meeting said various issues, including Bangladesh’s latest political situation, next general election, new Election Commission and human rights situation, came up for discussions at the meeting.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, its standing committee members Abdul Moyeen Khan and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and BNP Chairperson’s adviser Reaz Rahman were present at the meeting.

Earlier on February 22, Bernicat met the BNP chief when they discussed a wide range of issues relating to Bangladesh politics and matters of mutual interest of the two countries.
