NSU student assaulted by security guards
Dhaka: A student of North South University was critically injured after beaten by security guards at Bashundhara residential area in Dhaka on Wednesday night.
The injured is, Shahriar Hasnat Topu, a student of BBA sixth semester of the university.
Primarily, Topu was admitted to nearby Apollo Hospital. Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night.
On Thursday morning, Topu was again shifted to Apollo Hospital.
Kamrul Islam, one of the fellow students, told NTV Online the security guards restrained Topu and two of his friends from parking a motorcycle at the Apollo Gate, which is an entrance to the residential area, at about 10:00pm. Topu and his friends involved in an altercation with the security guards over the parking issue. At one stage, the security guards assaulted Topu and his friend, which left Topu critically injured.
However, being informed about the incident, around 20 students of the university held protest at the Apollo gate area.
Later, the Bhatara police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The Bhatara police Officer-in-charge Nurul Mustakim told NTV Online no case has been filed in this connection yet.
