Faruk murder: Charge-framing hearing deferred until Apr 24
Tangail: A court here on Wednesday deferred until April 24 the hearing on the charge-framing in the Awami League leader Faruk Ahmed murder case.
The court extended the time for 5th time as police could not produce the prime accused in the case, MP Amanur Rahman Rana, before it from Dhaka Central Jail on the health grounds, said additional public prosecutor Advocate Minirul Islam Khan.
Earlier on February 15, a court here deferred until today (Wednesday) the hearing on the charge-framing in freedom fighter Faruk murder case.
On September 18 last year, a court sent Rana to jail rejecting his bail prayer after he surrendered before the court.
Of the 14 charge-sheeted accused, seven, including Rana, 1901 Hrsare now behind the bars while the rest are on the run.
On April 6, 2016, a court issued a warrant for the arrest of the 10 accused in the Awami League leader Faruk murder case after accepting the charge-sheet submitted on February 3 last year by Inspector Golam Mahfizur Rahman.
Faruk Ahmed, an AL senior leader and also a freedom fighter, was gunned down in the district town on January 18, 2013.
