Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia will join the Pahela Baishakh celebrations at her party's Nayapaltan central office on Friday.

BNP's cultural wing Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS) will arrange a cultural programme in front of BNP's Nayapaltan central office to celebrate the Bangla New Year 1424, said a press release on Thursday.

The BNP chief will be present as the chief guest at the programme scheduled to begin at 2:30pm, the release added.

She also joined a similar programme last year in front of the BNP office.

Meanwhile, Khaleda Zia in message greeted all the Bangalees living in Bangladesh and outside on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh.

She hoped that the New Year will bring peace, happiness, prosperity and welfare for the country's people.
