Dhaka: A court here on Sunday asked the authorities concerned to submit the probe report of journalist couple Sagar-Runi murder case before it on July 26.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Khurshid Alam passed the order as Mahiuddin Ahmed, assistant police super and assistant director of Rab and also the IO of the case, failed to submit the probe report even after the extension of deadline for several times.

Earlier on February 8, a court asked the investigation officer to submit a progress report about investigation into the murder case before it.

Maasranga Television News Editor Sagar Sarowar and his wife ATN Bangla senior reporter Meherun Runi were found dead at their rented apartment in the city's West Razabazar area on February 11, 2012.

One day after the murder, Nawsher Alam Roman, younger brother of Runi, filed a murder case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.

On April 18, 2012, the High Court (HC) asked the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to handover charge of probing the journalist couple murder case to Rab.
