AK-47, huge ammunitions recovered in Langadu
Dhaka: Army on Thursday recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition including two AK-47 rifles in a raid at secret den of terrorists in remote areas of Langadu upazila in Rangamati.
The raid was conducted in the early hours of today on the basis of information that a group of 15-16 armed terrorists of a regional hilly organisation, United People's Democratic Front (UPDF), are staying at a secret den in Golachhari area in the upazila aiming at sabotage and anti-state activities, an ISPR release said.
But assuming the presence of Army, the terrorists flee the scene by jumping into nearby Kasalong river while the Army refrained from opening fire targeting the terrorists considering the safety of locals, it said.
Later, two AK-47 rifles, one Chinese rifle, one Yugoslavian rifle, four magazines, 151 rounds of bullets, eight ammunition loaders, a large number of army uniforms, UPDF documents and money receipts were recovered from the scene and Kasalong river.
None is yet to be detained so far in this connection.
