Savar: A formal complaint has been lodged against a student of Jahangirnagar University (JU) by a female student of a private university for ‘sexually harassing’ her.

Mohammad Sanwar Hossain, private secretary to the JU Vice Chancellor, said that the girl submitted the written complaint to the VC office on Thursday morning.

In her complaint, the female student of Law Department of Prime University alleged that she made a relationship with Mohidul Islam Biplob of Bangla Department, also a residential student of the university’s A F M Kamal Uddin Hall, on October 10, 2012.

Following the development of love affairs, she conceived on January 24, 2016.

Later, she had an abortion as per the advice of doctors Rezwan and Taslima of Jahangirnagar University Medical Centre, the victim claimed.

The girl also complained that Mohidul later forced her to continue physical relations with him and threatened her not to disclose it to others.

Mohidul, meanwhile, cut off relation with the girl and has been threatening her continuously, complained the victim.

Contacted, Dr Rezwan said that Mohidul went to the medical centre along with the girl addressing her as his wife.

The accused, however, claimed that the girl is blackmailing him.
