ACC to file 3 cases against 4 forest officials
Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is set to file three cases against four forest officials for allegedly misappropriating nearly Tk 19 lakh from Bangladesh Forest Department.
The Commission at its regular meeting on Tuesday decided to file three cases against them, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
The cases will be filed against forest ranger of Habiganj Court FCCO Mokhlesur Rahman, divisional forest officer (DFO) of Costal Forest Division (Patuakhali) Ajit Kumar Rudhra, DFO of Sundarbans West Forest Division Mohammad Sayeed and deputy forest conservator (Forest Management Wing) Mohammad Harun Ur Rashed.
According to the ACC's probe, the forest officials plundered the amount by preparing fake bill-vouchers when they were at the Social Forest Division, Pabna.
Besides, the national anti-graft agency will file a case against suspended officer of NCC Bank Limited Siddiqur Rahman and his wife Shipli Akter for allegedly acquiring illegal wealth.
