E-heart App inaugurated for cardiac patients
Dhaka: Patients of National Heart Foundation (NHF), who forget to take their heart medicines as prescribed can now better manage their dosages and routines through a new smart phone App launched in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Bangladesh University at its Urban Lab, with the cooperation of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Division, made this App for the NHF heart patients.
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq inaugurated the app as the chief guest at a function at (NHF) auditorium in city's Mirpur area.
He said, "Heart patients are living always in the risk. A slight deviation from the perfect treatment may cause a major problem for the patient...This digital App would give the him/her relief from the tension."
"It is money and time saving and user friendly too...It also develops a good relationship and understanding between the patient and the doctor," he added.
State Minister of Ministry for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak was the special guest a the programme with National Heart Foundation Founder President National Professor Brigadier (Retd.) Abdul Malik in the chair.
Palak said, "The government has been striving to digitize all the sectors and this digital App is a milestone in the way of progress in digitization of heart sector...Through this app, the NHF has stepped into a new era of outstanding services it has been trying to provide since its inception."
The App can only be used by the patient of NHF. Patient profile, risk score, appointment with the particular doctor, prescription, diagnostic test results, risk trend, follow up and other options are available in this App.
A patient, by using his/her ID no provided by the hospital or by downloading the App after being registered, can log in to take any kind of service related to heat diseases. Patient's all information would be recorded in patient profile including the history of disease recorded earlier by the doctors.
Each patient can know about her/his heart risks, test results, advice of medication and can also make appointments with any doctor by clicking the concerned module.
