BCL leader ‘ripped 2 female students’ dress’ over trivial matter
Two students of Eden College brought allegation against a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) central committee for harassing them centring a trivial matter near Palashi crossing on Sunday night.
The BCL leader is Mizanur Rahman Piklu, deputy secretary of environmental affairs in BCL’s central committee.
The female students lodged a written complaint with Chawkbazar Model police on Sunday night, said said OC Shamim Aur Rashid Talukder.
According to the complaint, a student of Eden College, along with her husband and younger sister, who is also a student of the college, went to a fish market at Palashi crossing at about 8:00pm, where Piklu was also present. Later, the student’s husband unintentionally pushed the BCL leader, which made him annoyed. He got mad at the student’s husband and used offensive words. The student and her sister protested Piklu’s misconduct, which left him fuming. Piklu called his followers and around 15 supporters of him attacked on the student’s husband and the victims.
The written statement reads, Piklu tried to harass the students, at one stage of clash he tore their clothes and threw them on the road.
Later, Russel Ahmed, a former student of the University of Dhaka and BCL’s central committee’s former vice-president went to the spot and rescued the students.
