Jeddah: Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims have been facing several problems after reaching Jeddah Airport amid thousands of pilgrims from all over the world thronging Saudi Arabia to perform the religious duty.

Although there are separate immigration terminals for the hajj pilgrims in Jeddah Airport, every Bangladeshi pilgrim has to wait around five hours on an average to get clearance from the immigration, reports UNB.

Hajj pilgrim M Fayez, hailing from Noakhali district, said he reached Jeddah Airport at 12:50 pm, however, got clearance from the immigration around 6 pm.

Bangladeshi pilgrims have also been facing acute transportation problems.

Pilgrims have to leave the airport using transport arranged by the local agent. However, this has proved cumbersome as the arrangement made by the agent means they are transported in groups of 40, with the vehicle not moving till all seats are filled.

Dr Jahangir Alam, a resident of Manikganj, said he had to wait around five hours outside the airport for the vehicle amid the scorching heat of the Arabian summer.
