PM visits Rohingya camp in Ukhiya

Cox’s Bazar: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited Rohingya refugee camps at Kutupalong of Ukhiya Upazila in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday morning.
A Biman Bangladesh flight carrying the prime minister landed at Cox’s Bazar Airport at about 10:35am. From the airport, Sheikh Hasina went to Rohingya refugee camp at Ukhiya’s Kutupalang by road.
Meanwhile, the Cox’s Bazar administration took four phases of security measures ahead of the prime minister’s visit. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is visiting the shelter camps for the first time, since a hundred thousands of Rohingyas entered into Bangladesh.
Prime Minister will talk with the circuit house officials at Cox’s Bazar after visiting the Rohingya camps. Later, she will leave Cox’s Bazar at about 3:50pm, after prayer and lunch break.
According to the United Nations, more than three lakh Myanmar nationals of Rohingya ethnicity intruded into Bangladesh in last two weeks after eruption of the latest spate of violence in Rakhine State of Myanmar.
