Munshiganj: A case was filed on Thursday against nine known people, including the owner of Ideal Textile Mills, and several unmanned persons over the devastating fire at the factory that killed six people on Wednesday.

Sub-inspector of Munshiganj Sadar Police Station Md Shahadat Hossain filed the case against factory owner Shamsul Alam Sajal, three directors, General Manager Khitish Sarkar, Accountant Md Arman Hossain, and guards Omar Ali, Md Osman and Uttam.

Police Super Md Zaidul Alam said the case was filed under section 304 (A) of the penal code for causing death by negligence.

Earlier, on Wednesday, at least six people were killed in the fire at the textile factory in Char Mokterpur area of Sadar upazila.
