Imagine, waking up in the morning to discover that you richer by a whopping $25 million! This is what Clare Wainwright, a lawyer in Australian experienced when she checked her bank account and saw $25.1 million Australian dollars deposited on October 25.

According to the Sunday Morning Herald, Wainwright informed the bank about the error and said that she didn’t spend a penny as she knows the legal repercussions of such an act. Since then, she tried to contact the bank which then fixed the error and the payment was reversed, reports khaleejtimes.com.

However, the bank is now probing the cause of such an error and the source of the wealth.

According to the Financial Ombudsman Service of Australia ‘You should not spend or withdraw the money transferred into your account by mistake because it is not legally yours and you have to pay it back.’

Though the happiness for Wainwright was quite short-lived, Wainwright said in the report that if she could spend the cash then she would have first paid off her mortgage and bought another house or an island!
