Chittagong: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul on Sunday alleged that the ruling party’s ‘identified cadres’ attacked their convoy in Feni as part of their pre-mediated plan. 

‘The terrorists who attacked our Chairperson’s convoy, their names and photographs have been published in newspapers. It’s now clear that Chhatra League and Awami League cadres made the attack,’ he said.

Fakhrul came up with the remark while visiting journalists, who were injured in the attack, at a hotel in Chittagong.

He voiced anger over the attack on the journalists saying it is unexpected that the reporters who had no link with politics came under attack.

The BNP leader demanded the government arrest the attackers immediately and mete out punishment to them.

Earlier on Saturday, the convoy of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, heading towards Cox’s Bazar, came under attack at Mohammad Ali Bazar near Feni district town.
