Another cold spell likely in last week of January
Dhaka: Another spell of mild to moderate cold wave is likely to hit the country in the last week of this month.
‘The current spell of mild cold wave is likely to continue over some regions of the country throughout the month of January. But the current spell of the cold wave may turn into mild to moderate one in the last week of the month,’ Mohammad Shahinul Islam, a meteorologist at Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), told BSS this afternoon.
‘Today, the mild cold wave is sweeping over Khulna, Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions and at some places of Tangail and Faridpur districts,’ he said.
The BMD, in its forecast, on Monday said moderate to thick fog may occur over the country during midnight to tomorrow morning and it may continue at places up to afternoon.
However, the weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.
Night temperature may fall slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. Minimum temperature of the country was recorded Monday 7.8 degree celsius at Rajarhat in Rangpur division and maximum temperature at 25.1 degrees celsius in Sylhet division on Sunday.
