Dhaka: Custom intelligence in a drive arrested a man along with 43 gold bars from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday night.

Mohammad Anwar Hossain, a resident of Mohammadpur area arrived at the airport from Singapore around 9:00pm, said director general of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Mainul Khan.

Being tipped-off, a team of CIID challenged Anwar while he was passing green channel.

During interrogation, he denied having any gold.

Later, they searched his body and found the gold weighing 4.3 kilograms worth Tk 2.14 crore from his underwear, said the official.
