Habiganj: A case was filed against six policemen in connection with a reported gunfight that killed former ward councilor in Chunarughat municipality.

The accused policemen are—sub-inspectors Ataur Rahman, Omar Faruk, assistant sub-inspectors Delaur and Sajid Miah and constables Monindya Chakma and Abdul Hamid.

Victim’s wife filed the case with Chunarughat Police station against the six policemen and unidentified around seven people on Tuesday, said the lawyer of the petitioner.

Earlier on January 1, Yunus Miah, in his forties, former councillor of ward no.9 in Chunarughat municipality, was killed in a reported gunfight with police personnel at Magurunda village of Chunarughat upazila.
