Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Italy and the Holy See (Vatican City) from February 12 to 14.

She will also attend the annual governing council meeting of Rome-based International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialised agency of the United Nations during the visit, reports the UNB.

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali will brief the media about the visiton Thursday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Vatican to hold a meeting with Pope Francis during her visit to Italy.

It will be a return visit at the invitation of the Pope.

Pope Francis visited Dhaka when he used the word ‘Rohingya’, for the first time during his Bangladesh-Myanmar visit in the last week of November and early December 2017.

The Prime Minister is likely to have a bilateral meeting with her Italian counterpart, officials said.
