Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will return home on Saturday after making a stopover in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi.

PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told UNB over phone from Abu Dhabi that the Prime Minister reached Abu Dhabi earlier in the morning by an Etihad Airways flight from Rome concluding her four-day official visit to Italy and Vatican City, reports the UNB.

Bangladesh Ambassador to the UAE Mohammad Imran and senior officials received her at the airport.

The prime minister departed Leonardo da-Vinci Fiumicino Airport in Rome for Abu Dhabi at 10:00am (local time).

Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy Abdus Sobhan Sikder saw the prime minister off at the airport.

In Italy, the PM attended the annual governing council meeting of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) at the invitation of IFAD President Gilbert F Houngbo.

At the invitation of Pope Francis, Sheikh Hasina also visited the Holy See (Vatican City) and held meetings with the Pope and Secretary State of Vatican City Cardinal Pietro Paroline.
