Police recovered the bullet-hit body of an alleged robber from Hanua area on Pulerhat-Rajganj road in Manirampur upazila of Jashore on early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Muktar Hossain, 50. He was wanted in ten cases, reports the UNB.

Being informed that two robber gangs were exchanging bullets at Hanua, a team of police there and recovered the body, said Mokarram Hossain, officer-in-charge of Manirampur Police Station.

Earlier on Tuesday, Muktar was released from jail on bail, the OC added.

Police arrested Muktar from Churamonkathi area on October 1, 2017 and since then he remained in the jail.

Police also recovered two shells of bullets from the spot.
