NTV’s 4th anniversary celebrated in 2007

Dhaka: Bangladesh’s first automation-based private satellite television station International Television Channel Ltd (NTV) celebrated its fourth anniversary on 3 July 2007.
With the slogan ‘Somoyer Sathe Agamir Pothe’ (heading towards the future with time) holding Bangla language and culture close to heart, Al-haj Mohammad Mosaddak Ali established the NTV on 3 July 2003.
The television channel celebrated its fourth anniversary with much pomp and grandeur.
Noted socialites, political leaders, eminent journalists and cultural figures attended the ceremony as honourable guests and some of the guests addressed the audience.
Awami League leaders Tofael Ahmed and Matia Chowdhury, BNP leader Major Hafizuddin Ahmed, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal president Hasanul Haq Inu, Jatiya Party leader Anisul Islam Mahmud, prominent journalist (now deceased) ABM Musa, noted journalist Shafik Rehman and the then Chief Executive Officer of NTV Ataus Samad (now deceased) addressed the anniversary, among others.
Ataus Samad said, ‘Recently a devastating fire broke out at the BSEC Bhaban and many digital equipments of NTV were burnt down as the NTV telecast its all the programmes from this building. But, fortunately we have re-grabbed our ace position through our hardworking.’
ABM Musa said, ‘I wish all the best to NTV and hope it will be able to entertain the audiences like the previous years.’
Shafik Rehman said, ‘I wish all the best to NTV. Although it has gone through a tough time for BSEC Bhaban fire incident, it will be able to continue its nice journey.’
Tofael Ahmed said, ‘I think NTV is doing the job maintaining neutrality and objectivity in journalism.’
Major Hafizuddin Ahmed said, ‘I wish all the best to NTV and hope NTV will maintain its objectivity in journalism and work for the people.’
Later, the guests cut a spectacular cake to celebrate the occasion followed by a rocking concert.
