Dhaka: A 23-member delegation of Juktafront, led by its chairman Prof AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, will exchange greetings with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganobhaban over tea on February 2.

‘Badruddoza Chowdhury has accepted the Prime Minister’s invitation to exchange greetings at Ganobhaban over tea on February 2,’ said a press release issued by the Juktafront chairman’s press secretary on Tuesday, reports the UNB.

It said separate invitation cards were sent to B Chowdhury and the leaders of Bikolpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) and Juktafront from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Monday.

Juktafront took part the in the national election under the Awami League-led Grand Alliance, and bagged two seats.

Meanwhile, BDB president B Chowdhury appointed former DAB and BMA leader Dr Rafique Chowdhury as a party’s presidium member.

Dr Rafique joined BDB quitting BNP before the 11th parliamentary election.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina invited Jatiya Oikyafront senior leaders to exchange greetings at Ganobhaban over tea on February 2.

Jatiya Oikyafront, however, still did not formally say whether the alliance leaders will go to Ganobhaban or not.

Awami League, led by Sheikh Hasina, formed the government for the third consecutive term following its landslide victory in the December-30 election.
