Microsoft has announced its partnership with Chinese internet giant Baidu. Now, Baidu.com will become the default homepage for those using the Microsoft Edge browser in China.

The deal helps the company push its Windows 10 further into the market -- Baidu's more than 600 million users will now be able to upgrade to Windows 10 through Baidu's distribution channel, "Windows 10 Express."

In addition, Baidu plans to offer Universal Windows applications for search, video, cloud and maps for Windows 10.

According to The Verge, the company has hundreds of millions of users who still use older or pirated versions of the operating system. The new deal intends to pull customers over to the latest version.
