National Hackathon 2016 on 6-7 April

Dhaka: The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department will arrange a two-day long Hackathon competition titled ‘National Hackathon 2016’ aiming to innovate solutions to the challenges to achieve the 10 selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reports local news agency.
The best young technologists of the country will participate in the competition to be held on 6-7 April.
They will work for 36 hours at a stretch to find out new solutions to the challenges and drawbacks through technology to achieve the 10 major SDGs.
The goals are agricultural productivity, newborns and children, violence against women, sustainable tourism, and qualified teachers in education, road accidents, and marine resources, environment in the city, energy efficiency and corruption.
The ICT department will sponsor the best ideas to implement the solutions to the challenges.
Interested young IT experts can take part in the competition by registering on the website http://hackathon.ictd.gov.bd/ by 10 March.
Hackathon is a globally recognised marathon coding event.
It is a gathering where programmers collaboratively code in an extreme manner over a short period of time.
Developers, innovators and designers join Hackathon in teams of five people generally to build innovative prototype to solve some sets of problems.
