Dhaka: Information Secretary Martuza Ahmed has inaugurated online payment system for Bangladesh Television artistes. 

‘Henceforth the artists of BTV will continue to receive their honorarium online’, said the secretary while launching the digital pay system through a video conference with BTV officials on Monday noon at the ministry conference room in the Secretariat. 16 online payments were issued at the event. 

Information Secretary described this initiative as a part of implementing Digital Bangladesh and said, ‘All departments and organizations of the information ministry are being digitized. It is bringing more transparency, quality and speed in the services.’

Bangladesh Television must take into account the Prime Minister’s innovative ideas, digitization and the native culture and heritage in airing programs, Martuza Ahmed directed the BTV officials headed by Director General S M Haroon-or-Rashid, who took charge in February this year.

8 modules for digitization has been adopted, informed BTV DG as he added that the state owned television will telecast attractive programs on country’s culture and heritage in celebration of the ensuing Bangla Nabobarsho (the Bangla new year) 1423.
