Dhaka: The 3rd version of the six-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 Cricket, is to be named as BRB 3rd BPL 2015, named after BRB Cables, beginning on November 22 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

BCB Director cum Chairman of the Media Committee Mohammad Jalal Yunus made this announcement during a logo unveiling ceremony of the 3rd BPL at a local hotel on Saturday.

In a ceremony, BRB Group Director and Managing Director of KIAM Metal Industries Limited Mohammad Mizber Rahman and BCB Director Mohammad Jalal Younus together unveiled the 3rd BPL logo at a function at Hotel Westin Saturday. Sanaul Arefin of Ardent-Mattra was present on the occasion.

Before the competition starts, a grand opening ceremony of the 3rd BPL will be held on November 20, also at the home of Bangladesh Cricket-Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS)

Most of the matches are scheduled to be held at Mirpur, but a few numbers of matches will be played at Chittagong as well.

Addressing the function, Jalal Yunus officially thanked BRB to come forward as the title sponsors of a mega event like Bangladesh Premier League. He wished for a successful third edition of BPL Mizber Rahman said, “The attachment of the whole nation to cricket is much praised around the world. We respect this love and attachment of the people and to take this forward, we have decided to get associated with BPL.”

According to the schedule, two matches will be played on every match day. The first match will start at 2 pm and will end at 5:20 pm while the second match will start at 6:45 pm in the evening and continue till 10:05 pm at night (Bangladesh Standard Time (BST).  On completion of league basis group matches, four top teams out of six will play in the semi-finals.

The 1st and 2nd ranked teams will play the first semifinal match and the winner will progress to the final directly.

The 3rd and the 4th teams will play in the eliminator round and the winner will advance to play in the second qualifier match against the loser team of the first semifinal.

The winner of the second qualifier will play the final against the winner of the first semifinalists.
