Depending on Mushfiqur Rahim's outstanding ton and Sabbir Rahman's crucial fifty, Bangladesh set 274-run target for Zimbabwe after losing nine wickets by 50 overs in the first one-day international at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on Saturday.

Mushfiqur Rahim hit 107-run playing 109 balls hitting 9 fours and 1 six to reach Bangladesh in the handsome total. Another middle order batsman Sabbir Rahman score crucial 57 runs spending only 58 balls.

Bangladsh lost Litton Das and Mahmudullah early in the innings. But Mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim Iqbal partnership help Bangladesh pass 100-run landmark. Tamim score 40 runs playing 63 balls. Allrounder Shakib Al Hasan didn't give much suppport to Mushfique and sent back to pavilion scoring 16 runs.

Mushfique-Sabbir's 119-run partnership helped Bangladesh to reach the big total. Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza finished the innings with 14 runs (not out).

Zimbabwe bowler Sikandar Raza and Muzarabani grabbed two wickets and Panyangara and Jongwe took two wickets.

Earlier Zimbabwe won the toss and sent Bangladesh to bat first in the first ODI of three-match series.

Bangladesh go into the series full of confidence having already registered three back-to-back series win against Pakistan, India and then against South Africa, reported the Cricket Country.

The Tigers have carried their form on to well since the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, where they reached the knockout stage for the very first time in their history.

Zimbabwe on the other hand recently lost a five-match ODI series 2-3 and will look to quickly recover from that by registering a win in the first ODI. Bangladesh will be without Soumya Sarkar, who has been ruled out due to injury.

Zimbabwe will, however, go into the series with a bit of confidence as they beat BCB XI in the warm-up match comprehensively by a margin of seven wickets.

Zimbabwe will look to turn their fortunes around in the series beginning with this match. Bangladesh will want to carry on their winning streak in this series as well.
