Dhaka: Bangladesh have defeated Zimbabwe by 145 runs in the first One Day International cricket match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Zimbabwe were all out for 128 runs in 36.1 overs chasing a target of 274 runs.

Elton Chigumbura was the highest scorer for Zimbabwe with 41 runs not out.

Sakib Al Hasan bagged 5 wickets for 47 runs, Mashrafe Mortaza took 2 while Al Amin and Nasir Hossain took 1 wicket each.

Earlier, Mushfiqur Rahim's outstanding ton and Sabbir Rahman's crucial fifty led Bangladesh set 274-run target for Zimbabwe.

Mushfiqur Rahim bagged the Man of the Match award for his outstanding 107 runs which is the fourth century of his career.

The 2nd ODI of the three-match series will be held on 9 november at the same venue.
