Bangladesh need 132 runs to win the first T20I of the two-match series against visiting Zimbabwe at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Sent in to bat first, Malcolm Waller stimulated Zimbabwe to 131 runs for all in 19.3 overs with his cameo of 68 runs off 31 balls involving four fours and six sixes.

Apart from his individual performance, Malcolm Waller pairing with Craig Ervine contributed 67 runs in 5.4 overs in the 5th wicket stand to carry the team total to 105 in 14.2 overs from 38/4 in 8.4 overs.

Off-cutter sensation Mustafizur Rahman hunted the big fish, Malcolm Waller, caught by Liton Kumar Das as his first one and trapped Tinashe Panyangara lbw to complete two-wicket haul conceding economic 16 runs in 3.3 overs.

Craig Ervine scored 20 runs off 31 balls with two fours before being bowled out by Mahmudullah Riyad.

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza jolted the visitors’ batting castle early dismissing opener Sikandar Raza (4) who was caught by Liton Kumar Das in the very 5th deliveries of the match.

Al-Amin Hossain packed the 2nd one Rigs Chakabva who was out for a duck caught by Mushfiqur Rahim at 8/2 in 1.3 overs.

The Tigers bagged three wickets in 2.3 overs conceding 10 runs as the skipper Mashrafe bowled the visitors skipper Elton Chigumbura to leave the crease for a duck.

The 4th pair between Sean Williams and Craig Ervine, who contributed 28 runs in 6.1 overs, tried to reshape the early damage, but all-rounder Nasir Hossain destroyed the visitors’ repairing chance bowling out Sean Williams at 38/4 in 8.4 overs.

Sean Williams scored 15 runs off 21balls with one four while Luke Jongwe was out for a duck and Neville Madziva added a single.

Conceding 20 runs each, Jubair Hossain, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Al-Amin Hossain bagged two wickets apiece respectively in 2, 4 and 4 overs.

Mahmudullah and Nasir Hossain took one wicket each for 18 and 29 runs respectively, bowling two overs each.
