Dhaka: A five-wicket haul by Cooper Kevon enabled Barisal Bulls to record an exciting 13 runs victory over Rangpur Riders in their opening match of the Bangladesh Premier League held on Monday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur, Dhaka.

Chasing Barisal's 155 runs, Rangpur Riders found the chasse stiff and dismissed at 142 in 20 overs, despite M Mithun's fighting half century.

Earlier, Barisal Bulls, rode on skipper Mahmudullha's brilliant half century, scored a healthy total of 155 for 9 from their allotted 20 overs, after they were sent to bat first by Rangpur Riders.

Brief score:

Barisal Bulls - 155 for 9 in 20 overs, Mahmudullah 51, Nadif 30, Cooper 21, Shakib 3/23 and Perera 3/29.

Rangpur Riders - 142 for all in 20 overs, Mithun 55, Simons 19, Misbah 19, Kevon Cooper 5/15 and Sami 2/35.
