Dhaka: Young all-rounder of Bangladesh cricket team Mehedi Hasan Miraz on Thursday evening left Dhaka for West Indies to play the Caribbean Premier League which starting on August 4.

"I am feeling lucky and excited as I'm going to play in any overseas franchised league for the first time. My international career is also in the beginning stage. "Sharing experience with world-class cricketer like Hashim Amla, Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Bravo will be fruitful for my career in future," the 19-year old all-rounder from Khulna said while talking to journalists in Mirpur.

The former Bangladesh Under-19 cricket captain, Miraz made his international debut for national senior side in a Test match against England in October 2016 and played out so far seven Tests, six ODIs and one T20I.

In the CPL, Miraz will represent a side Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) own by Bollywood super star Shah Rukh Khan, actress Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta. His team TKR will play the inaugural match against Saint Lucia Stars.

To play five matches for franchise team TKR, Miraz got clearance from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) till August 15.

However, another Bangladesh cricketer all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is expected to leave Dhaka for West Indies on July 29 to play for Jamaica Tallawahs in the upcoming CPL.
