World number one all-rounder in all formats of cricket Shakib Al Hasan scored one run and took one wicket as his side Jamaica Tallawahs conceded a 12-run defeat against Barbados Tridents in their 1st match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill on Sunday.

The left handed spin all-rounder of Bangladesh, Shakib faced three balls for his one run before being bowled out by Akeal Jerome Hosein.

With ball Shakib conceded 26 runs to capture one wicket in four overs. Shakib trapped Barbados Tridents opener Dwayne Smith by lbw.

Chasing a target of 143 runs, Jamaica Tallawahs finished at 130 for 6 in 20 overs where opener Lendl Simmons hammered a half century of 53 off 46 balls, including six boundaries and one over boundary.

Batting first after winning the toss, Barbados Tridents scored 142 for 7 in 20 overs where Shoaib Malik (33), Dwayne Smith (28), Wayne Parnell (25) and Akeal Hosein (not out 22) were the notable scorers for the side.
