Dhaka: Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has expressed the hope to win the upcoming two-match Test series on home soil against Australia.

"Our expectation is to win the two Tests," he said while talking to reporters at a press conference after the Tigers' practice sessions at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur here on Thursday.

"They (Australian) are well in adopting to any condition swiftly. There's an excitement as we, both sides, never played the current teams. We want to take the home advantage," said Shakib who is going to appear in his 50th Test.

The number one all-rounder in all formats of cricket thinks Bangladesh's spinners are better in home conditions than Australia, expecting good performances from Taijul Islam and Mehedy Hasan Miraz. "I think our spin attacks are better than theirs. Not in all conditions but in Bangladesh, we are better than them," Shakib continued.

He wants to keep trust on two young spin compatriots Taijul and Miraz as he said, "Taijul and Miraz have been bowling well and we trust them. I believe they will do something fantastic in this series."

The all-rounder observed that there was a time when he had to take the load of bowling in every possible scenario. The emergence of Taijul and Miraz has reduced his burden.

Expecting a good batting display from the team, he said, "Batting well in the game will play a very important role in the win."

Shakib who made his Test debut in May 2007 is going to play his 50th match in the longest version of the cricket when he will appear for the Tigers in the 1st Test (Aug 27-31) against visiting Australia at SBNCS.

The Tigers will play the 2nd Test (September 4-8) against Australia at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
