Bangladeshi opening batsman Tamim Iqbal retired hurt on the first day of the three-day tour match on Thursday against South African Invitational X1 scoring only 5 runs at Willowmoore Park, Benoni.

Another opener Soumya Sarker, who made 43 runs in the first innings on Thursday, picked up a hand injury during fielding on the 2nd day on Friday.

As a result, both the Bangladeshi opening batsmen failed to open the team's 2nd innings on Saturday, leaving Liton Das and Imrul Kayes to take their place.
