Mashrafe lauds Rangpur Riders role for ensuring rights of disabled
Rangpur: Bangladesh National Cricket Team's ODI skipper and Rangpur Riders' captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza on Wednesday lauded efforts of Rangpur Riders for role ensuring rights of the disabled population.
"I firmly hope that Rangpur Riders will continue its efforts to bring the people with physical disabilities into the mainstream of the society," Mashrafe said while distributing wheel chairs among disabled people at Rangpur Stadium in the city.
Mashrafe also witnessed a friendly cricket match organised by Rangpur Riders in association with 'Ardrid' and Shining School and College, Rangpur for the physically challenged cricketers and cultural function of children artists at the same venue.
Besides, Mashrafe addressed a press conference arranged at the conference room of Rangpur Stadium.
Mashrafe, also captain of the Bangladesh T20 Team called upon all concerned for extending assistance to the physically challenged people so that they could lead better life with their family members.
"Rangpur Riders is inspiring disabled cricketers and at the same time, conducting programmes to find out new and talented cricketers---- Better quality cricketers, if get chance, might come to the national crickets from Rangpur in future," he said.
"A number of experienced cricketers will play in Rangpur Riders and we will be able to gift something very good to the people of Rangpur in the upcoming BPL tournament," Mashrafe, captain of Rangpur Riders, said.
Bashundhara Group Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Rangpur Riders Safwan Sobhan Tasvir, Bangladesh National Cadet Corps Rangpur Zone Commander Major Harun-Ur-Rashid, Rangpur Riders Chief Executive Officer Ishtiaque Sadeque and ARDRID Chairman Jabed Ali, among others, were present.
