Mushfiq’s 5th ODI ton comes against South Africa
Dhaka: Bangladesh cricket team Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim hit his 5th ODI century while playing against South Africa in the 1st match of a three-match series at De Beers Diamond Oval, Kimberley on Sunday.
Mushfiq completed his mission as the first Bangladesh batsmen to hit a hundred against South Africa in ODI, taking two runs off Kagiso Rabada in 45.3 overs when his side collection was at 239/5.
Rabada delivered to Mushfiq who desperately took the quick two-run after a little push the ball to short cover area.
Just a ball before the achievement, Mushfiq lost his partner Sabbir Rahman (19 off 21b; 1x4; 1x6) who was caught by debut Dane Paterson off Rabada to depart from 5th pair at 237/5 in 45.2 overs.
Mushfiq was on unbeaten with 110 off 116 balls, including 11 boundaries and 2 sixes, as Bangladesh collected 278/7 in 50 overs in the match.
