Sylhet Sixers’ captain, manager warned for violating Code of Conduct
Sylhet: Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 franchise team Sylhet Sixers captain Nasir Hossain and manager Hasibul Hossain have been warned for breaching the level 1 Code of Conduct (COC) of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
Nasir and Hasibul violated the rules during the BPL T20 tournament opener against Dhaka Dynamites at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday (November 4).
Nasir and Hasibul were charged for delaying the toss by six minutes and failure to submit the team sheet properly.
The charges were brought by on-field umpires Masudur Rahman Mukul and Riaz Uddin, third umpire Tanvir Ahmed and fourth umpire Aktaruzzaman.
No formal hearing was needed in this case as Nasir and Hasibul admitted their offence after the match and accepted the sanction proposed by Match Referee Debabrata Paul.
Nasir and Hasibul were found to have breached Article 2.1.1 of the BCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to 'conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game.
In addition to the sanction imposed, one demerit point has been added to their disciplinary record.
Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official warning and a maximum penalty of a fine of 30 percent of the match fee and one or two demerit points.
