Dhaka: Dhaka Dynamites captain Shakib Al Hasan and Pakistan bowler of Comilla Victorians Hasan Ali were penalised for breaching BCB Code of Conduct in the AKS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 Cricket match.

Both the cricketers have been penalised for breaching Level 2 and Level 1 of the BCB Code of Conduct during their Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Monday.

Shakib Al Hasan was fined 50 percent of his match fees for demonstrating offensive reaction after an lbw appeal got turned down by the umpire. Article 2.2.4 relates to 'Using language or gesture(s) that is seriously obscene, seriously offensive or of a seriously insulting nature to another player, player support personnel, umpire, match referee or any other third person during a match.'

In addition, three demerit points have been added to Shakib's disciplinary record.

Level 2 breaches carry a minimum penalty of a fine of 30 percent of the match fees and a maximum penalty of a suspension of one match and three or four demerit points.

Pursuant to Article 7.5 of the Code, if a player reaches four or more demerit points in the tournament, the points will then be converted into suspension points. Four demerit points equate to a ban of one match.

Hasan Ali was fined 25 percent of his match fees as he was found breaching Article 2.1.7 of the BCB Code of Conduct for players and player support personnel, which relates to 'Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his dismissal during a match'.

He was charged by on-field umpires Ranmore Martinesz and Masudur Rahman Mukul, third umpire Anisur Rahman and 4th umpire Imran Parvez Ripon for pointing Mosaddek Hossain Saikat towards the dressing room after dismissing the Dhaka Dynamites batsman.

Hasan Ali admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Match Referee Samiur Rahman, so there was no need for a formal hearing.

In addition to the sanction imposed two demerit points have been added to Hasan Ali's disciplinary record.

Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official warning, a maximum penalty of 30 per cent of match fee and one or two demerit points.
