Dhaka: Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza led Rangpur Riders upset title aspirant Shakib Al Hasan led Dhaka Dynamites Dhaka by three wickets in a nail bitting match of the seven-team Bangladesh Premiere League (BPL) Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Monday.

After the match, Rangpur Riders remained at the 5th slot securing six points from six matches while Dhaka Dynamites also remained at 2nd slot with their previous credit of nine points from eight matches.

Sent in to bat first, Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza-led Rangpur Riders were all out for 142 runs in 19.5 overs with world famed T20 batsman Chris Gayle contributing 51 runs off 28 balls featuring five fours and four sixes.

Besides, Mohammad Mithun hit 26-ball 22 runs with a boundary, captain Mashrafe 11-ball 15 runs with one four and six, Sri Lankan Thisara Perera nine-ball 15 runs also with one four and six and Ravi Bopara 16-ball 12 runs for Rangpur Riders.

Captain Shakib Al Hasan was the most successful among Dhaka Dynamites bowler making a landmark of five-wicket haul conceding 16 runs in his 3.5 overs spell while former Pakistani captain cum all rounder Shahid Afridi picked up two wickets for 39 runs.

In reply, Dhaka Dynamites were dismissed for 139 in a stipulated overs.

Two down Jahurul Islam contributed 19-ball 29 runs hitting four fours and six, opener Evin Lewis scored 25-ball 28 runs, Pakistani Shahid Afridi made 15-ball 21 runs with a boundary, Mehedi Maruf scored 24-ball 15 runs with a boundary, Kieron Pollard hit 14-ball 12 runs while captain Shakib Al Hasan made run-a-ball 11 with one four.

National coloured all rounder Shohag Gazi, national pacer Rubel Hossain and skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza took two wickets each conceding 18, 29 and 30 runs respectively.
