Vijay shouted to Ravi, ‘I have got real estate, bungalows, bank balance, and car. What do you have?’ Amitabh Bachchan delivered the famous dialogue as Vijay to late Shashi Kapoor as Ravi in the famous Bollywood film Deewaar (1975).

This has been a popular dialogue in the sub-continent. You need something for fight and so on. Sri Lanka captain Thisara Perera won the toss at Dhamrasala against India at the first One Day International against India on last Sunday and he chose to field first. He was not worried, because he had Suranga Lakmal. After Chaminda Vas, this man is becoming the most dependable pacer for the Lankan team. Within one hour, India became 29 for 7!

Not only that, Lakmal also has an ability to carry through the innings. As a tale ender, any captain would feel good that a Lakmal is in his team.

England skipper Joe Root also takes such challenge as James Anderson, Cook are always ready to take such responsibilities. India struggled for a smart pace attack for many years. But, Bhuvneswar Kumar, Umesh Yadav are creating speedy scenario for the Indian cricket. Just imagine, the Eden Gardens turned into a green pitch instead of a dead one! India will face South Africa soon, and Virat Kohli sought for grass on the pitch against Sri Lanka. That would be also a good practice! Virat Kohli grabbed the challenge. He has Bhuveneswar, Umesh, Shami.

Few months earlier, Pakistan went back home with the Champions Trophy. Sarfraz Khan was lucky to have Mohammad Amir and Babar Azam. Toss does not matter, he has the arms! These arms crashed India in the final and Pakistan cricket revived.

Former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin had Sachin Tendulkar, Javagal Srinath, and Anil Kumble, as Imran khan had Wasim Akram, Inzamam and also the magician Mushtaq Ahmed.

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan recovered the Test captaincy once again. Now, he is the boss in both Test and T-20 format. No doubt, he will get the ODI captaincy also. So, may be the Bangladesh Cricket Board has a long term plan under the leadership of Shakib.

The number one and burning question to Shakib would be like Vijay’s one. ‘What do you have?’ What Shakib has in his armoury?

Former Bangladesh skipper Habibul Bashar was lucky. He had the perfect answer like Imran, Azhar, and Virat Kohli. He had the famous five — Pancha Pandava — Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Shakib, Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah. But, what about Shakib?

Undoubtedly, Bangladesh is getting success in both Test and ODI version. But how many dependable players come out from the eleven? After winning the toss, on what basis Shakib can take decisions? Suppose, the pitch is green and Shakib win the toss. Can he take fielding without any worry? Does any pacer in the team can destroy the opposite batting line-up?

Contrastingly, if Shakib wins the toss in the perfect batting track, could he be sure any batsman in the team would play a high scoring innings?

In the last overseas tour of Bangladesh, Mushfiqur, Mashrafe and Shakib had to face that problem in South Africa. Hashim Amla and Miller Co. destroyed Bangladesh bowling and Rabada was a nightmare for the batsmen. No matter who won the toss, the match had the same scenario!

Shakib needs arms. He needs magicians. He needs performers. He alone cannot do much to make smile on every faces. If the board think they want to go a long way, they should build a team of performers. Otherwise, Kohli will ask, ‘Hey Shakib, I have got Pujara, Rahul, Umesh, and Rohit, who do you have up your sleeve?’ In the film Deewaar Ravi said, ‘I have mom.’ What will be Shakib’s reply? Who will be the next Tamim, Mahmudullah, or Mashrafe? Is there anyone in the queue?
