Dhaka: Bangladesh got three wickets in eight overs on the way of the Zimbabwe’s collection to 85*/5 in 26 overs in the opener of the seven-match Tri-series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium amid cold weather in Mirpur on Monday.

Sikandar Raza (25) and PJ Moor (0) were on batting in the sixth wicket stand for the visiting side.

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan made the breakthrough to open his wicket haul account in the series sending off Solomon Mire with duck in the 2nd ball of the innings and found Craig Ervine just one ball later, also out for zero, conceding two runs. Mire was caught behind by Mushfiqur Rahim while Ervine by Sabbir Rahman.

Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza found opener Hamilton Masakadza (15 off 24; 2x4), also caught by Mushfiqur, in the last ball of his 2nd over when scoreboard showing 30/3 in 8 overs for Zimbabwe.

Wicketkeeper Mushfiqur again assisted pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman to get the 4th wicket for the Tigers from behind the stump as he caught Brendan Taylor (24 off 45; 2x4) when the visitors collected 51/4 in 16.4 overs.

Shakib conceded 18 for two wickets in five overs, while Mashrafe and Mustafizur concede 13 runs each for their one wicket apiece in six and five overs respectively.

Earlier, Mashrafe won the toss and opted to bowl first against Zimbabwe in the series opener.
