Chittagong: Bangladesh have started batting cautiously in their innings in first Test match against Sri Lanka.
Opener Imrul Kayes has started batting cautiously while Tamim Iqbal back to the pevilion getting a flying fifty.
The home team won the toss and chose to bat first on a Chittagong track expected to take plenty of turn as the game wears on.
In the absence of the injured Shakib Al Hasan, 28-year-old left-arm spinner Sunzamul Islam makes his Test debut, entering the XI ahead of the likes of Abdur Razzak. There were no major surprises in the remainder of the Bangladesh XI. Mustafizur Rahman, Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan make up the rest of the frontline attack. Mahmudullah leads the side in place of Shakib.
Sri Lanka, meanwhile, have also entered the match with a strong spin attack, with left-arm wristspinner Lakshan Sandakan in the side, in addition to finger spinners Rangana Herath and Dilruwan Perera. There is also an aggressive pace option: 20-year-old Lahiru Kumara plays his first Test since August last year. Suranga Lakmal is also in the XI.
