Dhaka: Bangladesh National Cricket Team’s former captain Mushfiqur Rahim has shared his son’s picture on his Facebook page on Monday.

Mushfiqur Rahim and his wife, Jannatul Kefayat Mondi, became parents of their first baby boy on Monday morning.

The junior Mushfiqur Rahim was born at the Square Hospital in Dhaka at about 9:30am.

The wicketkeeper of Bangladesh team has not shared the news with his fans and followers yet. However, Mushfiqur’s father, Mahbub Hamid confirmed the birth of his grandson through a Facebook post and asked everyone to keep the little one in their prayers. 

He also said the mother and the baby are in good condition.

Mushfiqur Rahim and Jannatul Kefayat Mondi exchanged ring on October 2013. Later, on 25 September 2014 they tied the knot. Jannatul Kefayat Mondi is also the sister-in-law of nation team player, Mahmuddullah Riad.

Mushfiqur Rahim, the former caption of Bangladesh cricket team, made his Test debut in 2005, during Bangladeh’s first tour of England, and he played his first One Day International (ODI) in 2006.

He specialises as a wicket-keeper and is a middle order batsman. The first Test double centurion for Bangladesh, Rahim is also the most successful wicket-keeper batsman for Bangladesh with most dismissals in Bangladesh history.
