Scotland have won the toss and decided to send Bangladesh to bat first in their 2nd Group A match of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium (SKICS) in Cox’s Bazar today.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 9:00am (BST).

Bangladesh started their campaign in the ICC Under-91 World Cup crushing defending champion South Africa by 43 runs in the tournament opener at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Wednesday.

This is the second group match for both the teams and it's a must-win game for Scotland to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.

Scotland conceded a huge nine-wicket defeat against Namibia in their first match at SKICS last Friday.

In the remaining group match, hosts Bangladesh will play Namibia at the same venue on Tuesday (2 February).

In a pre-match press briefing at Cox’s Bazar on Saturday, all-rounder of Bangladesh Under-19 team Mohammad Saifuddin expressed his optimism to win the match by a big margin.

‘We want to win the match by a big margin making a good run rate, but we don’t take them lightly’ Saifuddin said.

‘Our confidence level is now very high after beating (holders) South Africa in the opening match, if we are able to play the match that played against South Africa then it will not difficult for us to beat Scotland, and now we don’t think anything else but win’ He added.

‘We don’t have any idea about Scotland, we never played any match or series against them, they may be good side and we will have to give our hundred percent against them to achieve the target’ he further said.

Three more match of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup will be held on Sunday at separate venues across the country.
